Pre games training camps

Loughborough University, globally renowned for its sports expertise, and the Japanese Olympic Committee have signed an agreement that will see both organisations working together until the 2012 Games.

Japan will use the University's world-class facilities for training and final preparations before competitions in Europe over the next three years. As well as sporting links, the agreement with Japan will create major cultural, academic and economic benefits for the University, the local community and the wider East Midlands.

Other Pre Games Training Camps in the region have met with representatives from countries to discuss potential arrangements for basing their athletes in the East Midlands. Introductory guides to the Olympic and Paralympic Training Camps in the East Midlands have been produced and distributed to National Olympic and Paralympic Committees. These can be found at www.emda.org.uk/london2012.
